Neck Pain

Neck pain can be a disabling problem caused by many disorders including:

Degenerative disease
Disc herniation
Facet joint injury
Poor posture
Whiplash
Work related injuries
Nerve damage
Rheumatological conditions
Spondylosis

What are the symptoms?

Symptoms can vary widely and can be specific to the neck or felt in the neck, head and shoulders.  Neck pain can often give rise to headaches such as trigger points or referral of pain.  Pain can be referred or pins and needles down the arms.  Neck pain can lead to restricted movement making tasks like putting on seat belts difficult.

Neck pain can be treated effectively with the use of techniques such as gentle traction, mobilisation, trigger point release and most importantly specific stretches and posture awareness.
